The Last Brakes You’ll Ever Buy!
Confession - this is not a fair review. I have ridden Yamahas and Kawasakis with mediocre OEM front brakes for years. I tried upgrades to magic pad compounds, garden variety brake lines, oversized rotors, etc, with barely noticeable improvement. This time I went BIG - sprung for the entire MotoStuff front brake catalog (almost) to experience for myself what the best brakes available feel like: Billet V2 caliper, Blade oversize rotor kit, braided steel line, and AP pads. Oh, and this CRF master cylinder. So this review isn’t entirely about just the master cylinder. Results are in a word - spectacular. The Honda master cylinder is silky smooth, and is no doubt a worthy upgrade itself. The full package of upgrades delivers the stopping power you expect and then some, but what sets this configuration apart is the near telepathic feel provided - you now can brake with accuracy and confidence, fade free, lap after lap. As a result you find yourself entering corners with more speed, carrying more speed down the straights, and landing unexpectedly on your head much less frequently. In summary, this is the best upgrade I’ve experienced in 40+ years riding, including some years racing, and simply eliminates braking issues from your excuse list. If you are looking for cheap bling this is not your stop. If, however, you want to know what the best brakes feel like, check out MotoStuff - Scott, Dustin, and Erin really know their stuff and are easy to talk to. My only complaint is that they don’t offer more products!
