great wood filler for walnut

had a walnut door that had some chips in it and ordered the wood filler in the dark version. A little goes a long way and blended beautifully with the existing walnut. I finished the door with oil plus 2c in the pure color, and it looked amazing. I couldn't even tell it was there.

The dark wood filler works great. We are hoping the color will darken some as it appears a little more blonde than we were expecting. It could be that we didn’t get the blending exactly right on our part… It blends beautifully though and works just fine for us.

Filler Dilemma on Maple Treads

I’m intending to use the filler on hardwood maple stair treads installed with recessed trim head screws. They’ll be finished with A2 stain in Bourbon. I sampled the filler with A2 in bourbon on a piece of my maple treads. Unfortunately the filled recesses are noticeably darker than the stained treads. I’m not sure if I like the look or not and may try to sample a lighter filler.
