bristles far too soft

The bristles are so soft that they don't penetrate my hair, so that using the brush is the same as stroking the surface of my hair with a soft cloth. My hair isn't very thick, either. The bristles are simply far too soft. So, it's not particularly useful. I was hoping for stiff bristles that would brush all of my hair, not just stroking the surface of my hair.
