This Video course is well made video with great production value and clear sound. This Instructional is structured into 4 Volumes and is around 4 hours of Instruction on No Gi Guard work. JT is a great Instructor, speaks clearly and is easy to understand and he explains all the techniques and positions thoroughly and shows them from different angles.

Jammed full of well taught techniques

This instructional by JT Torres is all about techniques. The positions covered include: Vol 1 - closed guard, Vol 2 - half guard, Vol 3 - butterfly guard and Vol 4 – techniques from single leg X, modified X guard, X guard, Del La Riva, and entries from the open guard when the opponent is either on two knees or in combat base. It is a substantial instructional with a total runtime of 3 hours and 22 minutes. It is taught in No-GI and techniques are primarily focused on submissions, sweeps and back takes. There is no wasted time (i.e., no banter), as JT Torres stays focused on the material being taught. His instruction is clear, easily understood and the demonstrations are equally clear. The Uke understands the techniques and what is required of him. As is the norm techniques are repeated. In my experience this is an easy instructional to watch multiple times. Sound and video are good, noting the general limitations of a single fixed camera. The quality of the video and sound are consistent with the available previews. In summary, this is a techniques rich logically ordered instructional, however if you are looking for strategies, concepts and alike this is not going to meet your needs. The techniques taught are effective and they are taught well. I would recommend this instructional if you are wanting to learn a range of effective and not complicated submissions, sweeps and back takes from the bottom.
