Beam Travel Card

this was my first time ordering their travel card & i’m so happy i did! this is a very generous amount of paint and a fantastic way to try out their colors.

An absolute joy using and sharing

I bought the original mixing six (the standard primaries, with white gouache) and absolutely adored it. I mostly paint abstract color flows as part of my daily watercolor practice. I bought a second of the same big mixing six for my 95 year old grandmother has been an artist her whole life, but she was a little kid during the great depression, and so rarely saw reason to try professional watercolors. The absolute joy that it was seeing her experience professional watercolors for the first time! Applying great swaths of color onto the page, color mixing directly on the paper, painting little faces with her left hand (a practice she has done all my life). She is losing overall clarity in her vision, so I had her use her magnifying glass so she could see the gorgeous granulation where magenta and ocean met. She was so animated as she explored different ways to use the paints. I cannot thank Beam enough for making these gorgeous paints and accessible plastic free travel palettes!

So beautiful, and I really appreciate the cards of dollops of color palettes, it's a great way for beginners to try out lots of colors affordably, and its a LOT more paint than I thought it would be!
