Palomino vs. Blackwing Matte

Just starting to appreciate pencils after 60 years of pens. I hated the pencils in the California schools in the 50's. The Blackwing Matte turned out to be a little too soft for me. I love the smooth feel, but not having to sharpen it all the time. The Palomino still gives me a great feel compared to the old Ticonderoga. It hold a point better than the Blackwing Matt. Price is better also.

One of the best in my pencil cup

The Palomino Orange Eraser-Tipped HB pencils are hands down the most beautiful pencils in my pencil cup. The beautifully lacquered orange paint and gold colored foil make this pencil sparkle. For writing, this HB pencil is very smooth with a darker than average line for an HB. It has a slight toothy texture that I prefer in an HB. Many of my other pencils are 2B or softer, but when I want a general writing pencil or want to do some simple sketching this is my pencil of choice.

Excellent Home School Pencil

Just right (write:thinking:) pencil for grandchildren who are being home schooled. Markings are dark while remaining legible.
