Well priced light bucket
The Skywatcher 250p is a great value 1000mm F4 astrophotography rig. Stock setup is ok but this scope benefits from fitting a mirror mask as it improves star shapes greatly. Something that Skywatcher should consider doing as it would only add a very small increase to the price. The only other upgrade I would make is a solid aluminium spider upgrade to replace the standard unit although that is something to do down the track as the standard unit works well. The recommended Sharpstar coma corrector gives nice tight stars into the corners with an APSC sensor. Overall a sharp well constructed telescope with good optics. Image of M6 with just 30 X 30sec subs with RGB filters and 1.5hrs of Ha, 300sec subs.

Sky-Watcher 250mm Quattro Newtonian Telescope
The Beast! It’s big and it’s heavy and collects photons fast at F4. You can achieve a many nights project in just one with this scope. Found collimating using new Ocal collimator to be spot on arrival. Ref my post Centaurus A first light on this site 2nd August 2022. Just be sure to match this scope with a Mount capable of handling it. I use a Sky-Watcher AZ EQ6 and my PHD2 guiding was 0.12 error. Testar also supplied a Sharpstar corrector for excellent stars to the edge. The results of 74 * 120 sec subs on Centaurus A I was extremely happy with. If you and your Mount can handle it I fully recommend it. - Barry

Great 1st scope
I purchased this with a NEQ6 PRO Mount and am more than happy with it . Have managed some good DSO images and planetary shots adding my canon dslr's to the system easily. It is a big scope physically, but I only intend to use it in my backyard. I think it is great to have a 1000mm F4 as a beginner. Great service and advice too from Adrianno.
