Excellent Well-Built Snowshoes
My Dion 164s are great on rolling terrain including steep hills. The QuickFit bindings work well. The Ice Cleats give good traction under typical conditions. I also got a set of Deep Cleats, which increase traction in deeper snow.
It took me a while to get used to the popping sound made by the backs of the snowshoes snapping up after each step and hitting my boot heels. That happens mostly on beaten-down trails. Since the upward heel motion also kicks snow onto the backs of my legs, I wear snow gaiters.
I also plan to use the 164s on mountain trails. They don’t have perimeter teeth built into the frame like MSR snowshoes, so they probably wouldn't give as much side-to-side stability, if that’s important to you. However, the Dions are significantly lighter than most other snowshoes including MSRs.
The Dion 164s are well-built and versatile. Easy for me to give them 5 stars.

2nd pair of Dions!
I got was introduced to snowshoe racing three years ago. I love it! Dion steered me right with the 121 frames. I decided to get some larger ones for trekking and some climbing. Again Dion steered me right. Got the 164 frames. Quick fit bindings on both pairs. Easy to "shoe up" and never loosen.
