Performance Shortfall

I purchased two MAXXON Outfitters GORGE #7 Fly rods, In July 2026 I recently took both rods to New Zealand for trout fishing, while rigging up a rod for the first time of usage, the tip section snapped at the fifth eyelet which was surprising as the individual rigging the rod was extremely experienced at the art of rigging up fly rods, no problem utilized the spare tip section. The next morning i struck at a trout to set the hook and the second section of the rod completely snapped off. My experiences may assist individuals in their decision-making process if considering purchasing this particular product. I contacted Maxxon whom were helpful however the return price to be paid and documentation required for a replacement left a lot to be desired.

5wt Gorge Fly Rod

The quality of the rod is outstanding for the price. Also the workmanship and the finish is as nice as higher priced rods. I have not had it on the water yet but casting in the yard it appears to be smooth with a great feel. I would recommend this rod to any level sportsman.
