Do not buy this rod

Do NOT buy this as your saltwater rod! My friend and I each bought a 9’9 for a trip to Belize. Practiced with it and the tip broke while casting within 10 minutes. Maxxon refused any wrong doing and I was charged $35 to ship a new tip. While in Belize, the third section of my rod broke casting on the 2nd day and my friend’s tip section also broke while casting a few days later. We are very experienced anglers and fish like 50 days a year - these were extremely unusual breaks and not due to user error. This rod is simply NOT reliable. I called Maxxon after the trip and they refused any product wrong doing and made us pay the $35 dollar shipping fees to get a replacement part. My friend and I also live in the same city and they couldn’t put the replacement parts in the same order so we had to pay 2 separate $35 fees. I used to LOVE Maxxon products and their customer support. I broke a rod tip on a ceiling fan a few years ago and they sent me two for free! Definitely not the same company they used to be and I strongly recommend not buying this rod or any of their products moving forward.

Absolutely love these Double X rods!! I have 2 of them and the way they feel are amazing.
