Learned a lot in a short time

The course allowed you to practice rescues and self rescues several times so that when you need it, it will be second nature as long as I keep practicing self rescues on a regular basis. The instructor was very pleasant and informative. A good teacher.

Well worth your time and money

The instructor was well prepared, very competent and an excellent teacher. It was clear that his decades of paddling, participation within local paddling organizations, paddling expeditions and knowledge of the boats well prepared him to teach the course. He was able to answer all of my questions regarding paddling. He gave clear, timely feedback and followed up throughout the day. I found him to be a good judge of our comfort levels and was very appreciative when he took time to work through the challenging moments in tipping the boat over, wet exits and entry. I was thrilled when I could immediatly apply the learned skills to rescuing my partner from the water after the class. This was very reassuring and empowering to know how many skills I had gained practicing with the right equiptment, in a safe setting of shallow water with a well trained eye. I highly recommend the class and have family members who will be taking it next year.

Great experience!

Had a lot of fun practicing wet re-entry and basic resecure drills. I did more than 3 times each so plenty to conquer my fear of capsize :) Instructor is very knowledgeable and friendly. I learned a lot so highly recommended for beginners!
