Altai Over Hoody

Unique and functional

there are so many brands consumed with selling the fashion side of the outdoor business that they forget the truly technical customer and basic needs of a great belay or over jacket. the Altai jacket had all the features i have been looking for and some innovative ones that i am truly enjoying. the fit is roomy really made to fit over full action layers. the fabrics a bit crisp but i can tell it will be durable and is holding up well. The inner mesh pockets are Key and whats missing in soooo many puffers these days i will not buy another one with out them. the Wrist zippers are really a cool functional and innovative system almost worth the cost of admission alone. Will it become my go to technical warm layer YES. is it perfect no. I feel a little mislead( or i haven’t found the secret pocket about the product stuffing into its own hood? that would be closer to perfection and the layer is their to do it . I also find the outer zip pockets a little narrow. and i can live with the zipper slider direction but its a bit odd to get used to. is it truly worth 5 hundy? time will tell and until then it will be the back up peice that is always in my pack.

Love the jacket! I had to size down to an XS and it still fits over my shell. I’m a US 38 jacket or a 46 in european sizing.
