Very nice— easy to play
The ocarina has a very nice sound— mellow and resonant low register, clean middle register, and bright high register. Also I find it easier to play than some reviews say, and I have no trouble with reaching all the holes (my fingers span 8 piano keys on the right hand and 9 piano keys on the left). It would be nicer if it had a neck strap tho. Also it’s my first multi-chamber instrument and it took me a while to get familiar with the switching. But overall nothing too surprising. :)

The only ocarina you need!
Admittedly I am a newbie to the ocarina, but I got used to the weight pretty quickly and got the right breath control for each note. I am amazed at the craftsmanship of this instrument.

Advanced indeed
While there is at least one other ocarina out there with a wider range of payable notes, namely the ( ICO extended range quadruple bass), the lighter weight and ease of play make the Maxrange triple bass from STL an easy and sensible choice for me. Not to mention that the MRTB has a range of more than 3 1/2 octaves (44 notes) and is the most compact triple bass ocarina I've seen. While it does require a low breath pressure for the two subholes and higher breath pressure for the highest notes of the two higher chambers, the breath pressure is very even throughout. The MRTB is very accurately tuned, and after several days of practice with it, is quickly becoming my favorite triple bass ocarina of the few that I own. Besides all the specs that make the MRTB a great instrument, it is also pleasing aesthetically. With a rather space-age look, it is an evolution in ocarina design. I would recommend to pros and amatuers alike who are looking to buy a great triple bass at a sensible price for what you're getting in return.
