Mini K87 Condenser Microphone

I used the mini K87 for the first time this weekend to record an acoustic guitar and a vocal. I am very pleased with the sounds I got. The artist had a Martin, and I put the mic between the 12th and 14th fret and it sounds great. Vocals were effortless. I am very much an amateur in my humble car-port-converted-into-home studio, and this mic helped me capture the character of the performance in a very transparent way. I'm very satisfied and excited to use it more!

I compared the mini K87 to the Neumann TLM 103 during a project in my job as a voice-over actor. With my voice, the K87 has a slightly rounder and silkier character, but with the same definition as the TLM 103, which enriched my arsenal of microphones to be able to better adapt to different projects. But, in addition, with a very slight EQ on the K87, it sounds exactly like the Neumann. I have two short voice files recorded to compare, if someone is interested. I love his small size with so munch quality inside. Even at double the price, this microphone would be one of the best value for money on the market. I am absolutely impressed with this microphone and the Roswell brand.

Very versatile, got some excellent vocal takes on it. Used it to pick up some ambience on some percussion along with dynamic mics. Looking forward to using it in acoustic guitar as well!
