Elegant Jungle Surprise

I was pleasantly surprised by this tea when I got 4 or 5 steeps in. Initially, of course, you keep brew times short, to tame and balance any early bitterness; but when I got further in, the taste profile all fell in line to one dominant note: you can really taste the jungle with this tea; the taste is of the tea itself. Not overly strong, but bright and vibrant, the "tea" flavor absolutely shines through, with an elegant, simply enjoyable quality. Tea soup is clear and bright, an amber yellow that sparkles in the cup. Cha qi is very nice, even, but not overpowering or edgy in any way. If you're looking for a tea that has massive depth of complexity, with layers of various flavors, this isn't it. But what it does offer is straightforward, very satisfying, and in combination with the mouth and body sensations, an overall pleasant tea experience and great value.
