Mamma Kombucha (Kombucha SCOBY)

Scoby worked great! My 1st ever batch of kombucha made with this scoby was delicious!

Works, but slow start. Be patient!

This SCOBY worked for me, but it took 3 weeks for fermentation to complete on a 3 litre batch when I followed this websites recipe & instructions, so I don't recommend you start with anything greater than that for your first batch. In the end the flavour was excellent, so be patient and it'll be worth it!

SCOBY not active and wrong shipping

I’ve been brewing kombucha for over 20 years and decided to try this shop after seeing it recommended on Facebook. Unfortunately, I was disappointed from the start. At checkout, I selected 3-day shipping, but during payment the system reverted to standard shipping with a 2-week delivery time. I contacted customer service immediately, but they were unwilling to correct the error—even though it was clearly a flaw in their website. When the package finally arrived, I was disappointed by the size and quality of the SCOBY and pellicle. It was far smaller than what was shown in the photos on their website. I followed the same brewing method I’ve used successfully for two decades, but there was very little activity. No pellicle formed, and the brew lacked the usual signs of fermentation, including the distinct kombucha aroma. After the poor customer service I experienced earlier, I’m hesitant to reach out again. Sadly, my only recourse is to avoid ordering from this shop in the future. I wish both the product and the service had lived up to expectations, but based on my experience, I can only give a 1-star review.
