First Gut Strings
My violin produces too much metallic noise, so I gave gut strings a try. As I expected, they need more frequent tuning, but it's not as bad as I thought. Although Passione strings solved the issue of the metallic noise, the projection was reduced quite a bit. I decided to keep only the G-string, which maintained a good balance of deep & rich sound and reasonable projection.

The best!
I have a bright modern Italian violin and have had trouble finding the right strings to balance the power and brightness. These strings have just the right amount of huge sound plus warmth plus vibrance and they feel so natural and the sound is elegant. Used to use dominant strings but these are a much needed upgrade. Fivestars.

Excellent compromise
This new set is the third or fourth I have bought, so what I say is based on some experience. I used to play on Pirastro Olive strings and I still think they are wonderful. But very often I couldn't even play one movement without having to retune; especially the A. So when I became aware of the existence of Passione (they even cost a little less!) I tried. They are not quite as easy to play as far as getting various different tones out of them, but still almost as easy. And they keep their tune through a whole rehearsal. So they solve a substantial practical problem. I am now committed to these strings. I do not think I can do better--at least not on my violin.
