The cheese grotto arrived with lightning speed and it’s even better than I imagined! I got the piatto model, but it’s still big! Holds a ton of cheese. ¡Viva cheese grotto!

A Unique Gift Idea

I was looking for a special gift for a fellow cheese lover and came across the Grotto! It was exactly what I was looking for, on multiple levels. Purchase process was easy, and customer service was quick and attentive when I had questions. Unfortunately at this point I can't speak to how effective the grotto is in storing cheese as my friend has not put it to use yet!! Presuming all goes as expected, I will be coming back to buy another for me, and as gifts for other friends!!

Better than I had hoped for

I picked up a Piatto after reading about the Cheese Grotto in a recent Food & Wine article. I have regularly used cheese paper in an attempt to preserve my cheeses, and have always tossed some or much of my cheese purchases due to spoilage. I live alone, and it is difficult for me to consume all of the cheese I pick up, but I just adore artisan cheeses and can’t stop myself from bringing them home. As such, I’ve seen a lot of money end up in the bin. I also like to keep Parmigiano Reggiano on hand for many a culinary adventure, and I’m quite familiar with attempting to grate a rock hard chunk of the cheese for just such occasions. That said, the Cheese Grotto actually kept my Parmigiana Reggiano in a stable state. It did not get hard, even over several weeks, and was simply beautiful. I’ve also been very impressed with how long I’ve been able to store other cheeses using the Grotto, such as a French brie which has been sitting in there for some time. All I can say is I’m a convert! I only wish I had a larger fridge so that I could fit a larger Grotto!
