Crawl space X2D installation
Suggest Tjernlund create instructions for situations described below for others who cannot enter the crawl space. Mine has been hermetically sealed with no ventilation for some 15 years with insulation under the floor and all around the foundation. Before my recent purchase of the house, the building inspector discovered radon slightly above at the top end of allowable concentration. I will not enter the crawl space until the stale air has been purged. I would like a double switch plate “control panel” with LEDs to indicate the fans are operating or off, with a switch to turn power to the X2D on and off if there is a problem. Installation model X2D into crawl space is impeded by culluose insulation between floor joists (blown in between the floor and a very thick mylar barrier. Installing through an opening cut into the rim joist outside requires tilting the unit downward slightly so air is drawn in is blown below the molar barrier unimpeded. Having to design and fabricate wedges to support the X2D on 1/2” plywood and secure to foundation sill. Installing electrical outlet in the adjoining bay if floor joists and install a switch inside the house, running power from an outlet already in that area directly above fortunately. Also inserting 1/2” plywood above the X2D extending 2X it’s length to support the mylar an cellulose and maintain an unimpeded path for air to flow.

Product has solid construction. Plug and play setup are nice. I need to make a solid shroud adapter to fit the old window frame. It would be nice if an internal damper were inside to keep cold air out during the winter in the Northeast.
