The big seeds were a neat surprise. I relished the idea of having pumpkins full of fistfuls of these giant pumpkin seeds. I started these initially too early in August. They just couldn't thrive with our North Florida heat, humidity and pests. I tried again in late August. I transplanted plants I started inside to a low tunnel covered with frost cloth just to protect them from pests until they started to bloom. By early September they were too big for the cover so I removed it. One day I noticed a folded leave on the ground and thought that I would remove it, but it was stuck. Upon closer inspection I saw that the vine had grown roots at the leaf node and stabbed it right through the folded leave. Every morning it seems there is another foot of two of vine that I corral back into the row I want the pumpkin to stay in. I see several places where the vine is setting new roots. Great survival technique, I think, against the dreaded Squash Vine Borer!

I have always received prompt service, except once when I chose to pay by check instead of credit. When I paid by check it seemed my order got lost or misplaced and it was over a month before I received my seeds.
