Kite Lynx HD+ 8x30 Binoculars + Gift

Compact and light; sharp and clear

Very pleased with these binoculars and with the service from the friendly and efficient Stealth Birding team. I particularly wanted a pair of binoculars that was compact, light and easy to carry; as well as giving a sharp clear image. The Kite Lynx 8x30 are excellent.

Brilliant bins

Almost perfect. The close focus is really useful, much appreciated for checking the bow on your shoelaces, but the image quality and widest-in-class-by-a-fair-chunk field are the killer features: apparent field of 62.4° (ISO) is so immersive, and the FOV area visible is 30% bigger than the best of the rest of the 8x 30-32-40, yet the overall detail surpasses many 10x optics' sweet spots, while colours and contrast are superb. Cons? The ergonomics aren't as instinctive and natural as the Swarovski CL companion, the feel isn't as nicely balanced and solid, the Kites being a little bulkier too. The reflection control with near axis stray light isn't as good as on the illustrious CL either, so there might be more ducking and diving for shade sometimes. Perhaps the objectives have slightly too little shading and recess, or maybe some stray light measures inside aren't as effective as they could be? Not bad, but not quite up there with the very best. Maybe another millimeter or so of eye relief would be useful for some, especially spectacle wearers. Overall, with versatility, IQ and transmission right up there, and that 30 year warranty, these represent a bit of a bargain

Excellent pair of binoculars. Chosen for their very close focus for observing butterflies, they were equally at home birdwatching in the Cairngorms and Moray Coast at Christmas. Highly recommended.
