Great Bar!!!
Beautiful craftsmanship and sturdy packaging. Knurl is not super aggressive but super sticky to hands.

Better than the bar from "R"
First I bought an Ohio bar and used it for a month. The deep grooves on the sleeves made the stuff on the walls rattle when I put on 45lb plates, made long warm up sessions a literal headache. I started looking for a power bar with smooth sleeves and settled on American Barbell. This bar has slight machining lines in the sleeves that only make I mild ring when you slide the plates, instead of a chain-saw sound. Love it. Sleeve preferences aside, the fit and finish on this bar is top notch. There is zero play and rattle around the bushings, it spins nicely, and the knurling is perfect. Sold my "Ohio" bar after the first workout with this one since I knew it would spend its life leaned against the corner.

I don't deserve a bar this good
65 year old basement lifter here. This thing feels great, spins as well as needed for squats and benches, is tight and quiet, and the overall workmanship is just perfect. I'm not sure about the functional benefit of those recessed welds, but they just look sharp! I lifted for 30 years with a cheapo bar from Body Solid. It started looking raggedy and one day I noticed it was bent when I rolled it. So I bought a very nice 28.5mm, no center knurl, bar from "R", because they are everywhere online. It is a solid bar, and it opened my eyes to the difference between good bars and junk. But, I missed a center knurl for squats, and I was surprised to notice a different feel to 28.5 when bench pressing, so I knew I needed a real 29mm power bar. This time I looked around before pulling the trigger, and I'm glad I did. The 28.5 R bar will be relegated to deadlifts and rows. I'm pretty sure my next bar will be from A.B. The knurling feels tacky, no problem at all. I even tried it for a few deadlifts and
