This is a great pattern and a great accessory when an outfit needs a little more. You need a zip longer than we usually use for dolls, but otherwise you can make with small scraps that are to precious not to use.

Heading to Grandma’s Backpack

What a fun little project! Everything about it is just right, and the details … from the twill straps with parachute buckles to the handy mesh pocket on the front … are so cute! The size is just right - looks perfectly proportioned to the doll, but big enough that it actually is usable. The instructions are well written and easy to follow. I used a combination of denim and twill, and added a medium weight interfacing to the one piece of quilting cotton to give it a sturdier feel.
