I've never experienced the original but I don't need to this is so gorgeous! The cedar is so peaceful and woodsy. It's less of an earthy forest cedar and more of a freshly made ornate cedar chest. The rose note for me is non-existant but rose can be overly powerful so I don't miss it. Absolutely lovely.
