55 mm ShockStop Suspension Stem

This is my third ShockStop Suspension Stem, but my first 55 mm one. It doesn't work as well as the 70 mm ones I have on other bikes. I think this is because the "lever" is too short. I'm going to try softer elastomers to compensate.

Shockstop stem

Easy to install. East to adjust. It takes some of the shock forces off my hands and wrist. I used the recommended setting for my weight. I think I will try the next step lighter to see how that feels. I can feel the shock absorption without making the steering seem sketchy.

Comfort and capability

I have this stem on my trek checkpoint sl5. It has transformed the bike. I can ride more technical terrain and gravel is much less tiring on my body. I will also be ordering the seatpost!
