Book is amazingly good.
Paper for fountain pens has no bleed through. Zero ghosting. Dry time is quick. I prefer the lined journals but all their papers share the same qualities. Leather cover is very nice. Lies flat and is comfortable for writing. My favorite size is B5 which is between large and medium. I may try large. Epica beats Moleskine on all the above measures and is better than many others I’ve tried. My current go to.

Good journal
Great for my fountain pen. I just wish it would lay flat.

Worried about overwhelmingly positive reviews?
Like you, I was concerned about the universally positive, and overwhelmingly enthusiastic reviews about a seeming luxurious item for sale on the internet. In my research, I found nothing negative from any reviewer of this product, even the packaging amazed recipients. Youtubers showed unboxing, and refilling, but I still wasn't sure. Years have passed since I first looked at this product and I kept returning with the intent to purchase for myself, but I was continually leery of the near perfect reviews, and mysterious online presence. Having written in my journal (6x9 hardbound refillable) incorrigibly for over a week this new year of 2021, I am excited to say that the overwhelming positivity and satisfaction shared from others are dramatic understatements to the quality of this product. I have used every brand of journal on the market, from moleskine, rhodia, leuchtterm, midori, and others. This product exceeds the rest in quality and tactility. I would go so far as to say the quality of craftsmanship on display in this product puts the craftsmanship of any other item I own to shame. This is truly old-world quality, before planned obsolescence, and before "disposable" items replaced hand-crafted quality. In short, if you are on this page, and you care about quality, tactility, and durability, if you want something that will inspire you, and capture your imagination, this is the journal for you. THIS IS NOT A PAID REVIEW, this is an open letter from an enthusiastically satisfied customer to any of you who hasn't held an Epica in your hands, encouraging you to buy one and feel the inspiration for yourself. A side note: if you do have questions, the company representatives are exceedingly polite and accommodating and surprise me at every conversation with their helpfulness. The shipping (USA) was also expedient, and arrived days before it was projected. I'm not saying this is universal occurrence, but with many bad experiences with shipped items in 2020, the expedient delivery was something that really made an impression on me.
