Ring too tight

The particular one I purchased was silver with red gem. It would be perfect if the ring wasn't so tight. I'm going to attempt working it in and loosening it up, but if it doesn't loosen up it'll be unwearable. The ring on a knocker should be free to move. At least in my experience
