A versatile pattern
I made the jacket in some remnant babycord. As this was the first time I had used this pattern make I decided to test the torso for size/fit in calico, and I wanted the jacket to be worn over a blouse. This was definitely worthwhile. My doll plus blouse was fatter than than the original model so I decided to allow a little more at the side seams and to increase the button stand width by adding a little at the centre front fold line (I wanted a more traditional buttoned look rather than quarter inch velcro). I also shortened the jacket by one inch for the look I wanted. The sleeves fitted into the armholes beautifully and did not need easing threads. I shall certainly make the pattern again, probably with a few more minor changes to give a more varied wardrobe and improved fit. With my fabric I found that there was a lot of bulk where the shoulder seams of both outer and facing met the collar (reduction from 5 stars on this point). I will extend the front facings to the centre back next time to distribute the bulk. When my great-niece starts school the jacket pattern will be reused to become part of a matching school uniform, and I can think of many other variations for outerwear. I am glad I bought the pattern and look forward to trying out the trousers and hat in due course, and I am encouraged to buy other patterns from this designer.

Great pattern, well written
I love this pattern! I will definitely buy from this designer again! The hat makes this outfit look so legit! The pockets lend the details that create a put together look. I paired it with the "Girls on the Go" duffle bag and your doll is ready for her/his next mission. I used foam interfacing in the round ends of the duffle bag to help hold it's shape. Also, centered the long straps 1 1/4" from each outside edge. I will be making more of the Army Combat Uniform!

Very fun and cute!
My aunt and I made this for my American Girl doll, and it was very fun to make! The instructions were easy to follow, and the only problems we had were from trying to use too heavy-duty thread. The uniform turned out super cute, and I'm considering making more for my other dolls! I did leave off two of the pockets and the hook-and-loop tape from the jacket due to personal preference (and historical accuracy, I was going for a Korean War era uniform).
