Handsome and light
Can't believe they stopped making these! I think I got the last one online in my size, and I'm so glad I did. I tried on a few of the other models in store but the soles were too thick for what I was looking for, as I was after more of a travel boot. These feel much more minimalist, light, and flexible!

Great, Comfortable Boots
These boots fit so comfortably the first time I put them on. There was no need to break them in, but now that they are broken in, they are even more maneuverable and enjoyable to wear. I’ve worn them every day since my purchase and intend to wear them until they fall apart. Sad to see they are discontinued to be honest.

Good with some minor issues
I'm one of those folks who will modify shoes like this to dial them in for my needs. So far I haven't had to do that, but it's probably coming after wearing them pretty much nonstop for three weeks. First, the pros. These shoes are well built from quality materials and should last a long time, even after they're "worn out". I think they look good new and will look even better once they're broken in, scratched and scuffed, and dried a few times after getting wet. The wide toe box has become really important to me over the last few years (I'm 62 at this writing), and the zero-drop design plus the materials make this a solid shoe for some basic outdoor experiences, yet fashionable for indoor and even some work environments. It's not a hiking orca construction boot, but could easily get around for a bit in those environments. The cons are minimal, but notable. The boots require complete loosening of the laces to get on and even then I sometimes feel like I'm going to break the heel loop. They're a little tight behind and above the toe box, making them more comfortable to wear untied and loose-laced. Speaking of laces, they are essentially paracord which is rugged, but they don't seem to hold knots well and loosen over time unless I double-knot them. So another reason to wear them loose. That looks great with jeans or shorts, but won't work so well at the office or when walking distances. I would also have preferred the welt to be sewn (Goodyear?) rather than glued. I suspect that may make it more difficult to replace the soles when I need to do so - and as I mentioned, I'm one of the type that would. I am starting to feel like I want to replace the insole too. Easily done as they're removable. After a really full day of wearing these, I did find my feet aching a bit and suspect the insole just wasn't robust enough for my purposes. Early on I tried to replace them with the type of lambs wool inserts I use in other shoes during the winter, but that didn't work as well as I'd wanted, as I could feel the lack of support almost immediately. The factory insoles also make my feet sweat a bit (another reason I like the wool ones). Finally, the treads are channeled in a way that picks up and holds small gravel bits - same width all the way through rather than wider at the bottom. That means I risk scratching floors if I don't regularly pick the stones out. So look - really like these for what they are. They look good, they're waterproof and well put together, and I can mod them enough to make them work for me. One star off the fact that I have to.
