Baofeng DM-1701 DMR | Dual Band | 5W | 120K Contacts Import | SMS Function

Great little radio. Awesome signal and clarity reports. It's a bit limited on contacts but at the time of posting it has all of the USA contacts installed with a bit of extra space. Coming from analog radio programming to DMR programming was a bit of a struggle and I was irritated with how long it took me to figure out that Microsoft Excel was necessary to import my contacts properly ( I wasted a lot of time figuring that out). The program told me directly I just tried every other free spreadsheet program hoping it had the necessary file but Microsoft has some proprietary file or driver needed to import the contacts. That was my only gripe. But still a 5 star radio for someone looking to get into DMR for cheap. Unfortunately finding any raspberry pi hardware is next to impossible now so look into the orange pi for a DMR hotspot build or you'll pay through the nose. Otherwise local hams are propping up DMR repeaters all over. I would recommend it.
