However, I eventually learned the hard way that those cheaper alternatives simply don’t last. I totally get it now. Malkoff lights are overbuilt and designed to last a lifetime. Amateur user, lover of heirloom quality gear, former Streamlight & Surefire owner. Wanted a small EDC/BAG light that had a user-replaceable battery. The Malkoff MDC SHO 1CR123 is absolutely perfect! I considered the AA version of this light, but ultimately chose the CR for its brighter beam and what a beam! It has a nice hot spot, blending into a very usable peripheral spill. I like that I can inspect my roof after a storm or fill a hallway with lumens! The icing on the cake was the handwritten thanks on my packing slip from Mrs. Malkoff! My only lights going forward will be from this company. Thank you very much!!!
