Lovely in a solid color yarn

The sample photo uses a variegated yarn, which hides the pattern's interesting details. Knit in a solid color yarn this is a very lovely pattern. I know DGY wants to sell their variegated yarns, but they have solid colors, too, and wish they would show samples of patterns such as this so people can see the actual stiches. I probably saw this pattern & passed it by many times, & am sure others have, too, because I thought it was just a common cable hat until one day I looked closely.

I’m a beanie person and THIS pattern definitely takes the cake. Simple and it has some cute style to it. Definitely would recommend to any beginner knitter
