Position before submission

The phrase "position before submission" gets tossed around a lot for BJJ, but most instructionals still focus on technique - specific escapes, sweeps, or submissions. This is one of the few videos I've found that goes in depth on proper body mechanics and positioning to maximize the effectiveness of any given position.

Tested sidecontrol position

I've enjoyed many Stephen Whittiers instructionals. Lot of them make sense, but real value comes from the mat lab. Today I tested the first position: sidecontrol under progressive resistance and it was good. Opponent could not improve his position or submit me even thou I let them take their best possible position. I know I was not perfect in transfering against stepping over my head (spinning back take - more practise and bottom side control will be a position where I can catch my breath...)
