Larsen Soloist Cello D String

Soft gauge strings solved tone imbalance.

The Soloist D string in "soft" gauge (as well as a "soft" Larsen A string) solved a longstanding issue with my cello of too much volume on those strings. The "medium" guage A and D strings I had been using on this instrument had always produced a somewhat harsher tone. The lighter tension strings still gave plenty of volume, a nice mellow tone and were much more responsive which resulted in a much more easily played and tonally balanced instrument.
