Pirastro Obligato Cello String Set

Obligato Cello Strings and a Fiddlerman Master Cello - Great Match!

I was hesitant to get these. After some great assistance from Fiddlershop, I bought the Obligato strings. I was looking for a sweeter E on the A string and a sweeter A in the D string. These strings delivered on my Fiddlerman Master Cello. I am very picky about the E on A, and A on D. What I was surprised about was how much more beautiful the C and G strings are, also! I cannot remember the name of the Fiddlershop employee I was in contact with, but he listened to what I was asking for in the D and A strings, and he was right on target. Thank you. The strings hold their tuning, which really surprised me. All the strings are full and beautiful. These strings are so easy to bow. This surprised me because I can't bow them on a violin. I had to take them off. The C string bows much more easily, now. I can actually get a good sound from it. It is probably because the Obligato C responds so well when I do my very student-like bowing. All the strings sound so much richer, and I loved the sound before I switched strings. When I changed to these Obligatos it was like night and day. I will probably not try other strings because these are so beautiful. Another point I need to mention is that the ball end fits nicely into the fine tuners at that end. I have purchased brands where the wrap(?) is too fat and the strings will not fit. Not so with these Obligatos. I had no issues. I am very pleased with the strings and with the customer service. Thank you (sorry, I cannot remember your name!), for your assistance and listening to what I was trying to achieve. I knew the sound was in the cello begging to come out, and the Obligatos really opened the door.
