2005 Jeep LJ CB installation

I don’t typically leave reviews but I’ve had this CB installed since early in 2020 and couldn’t be happier. I communicated with Right Channel Radios several times via email and telephone prior to ordering. Their customer support and technical knowledge was outstanding. I installed the President Bill, hood mount and Firestik Antenna with a quick disconnect. The antenna arrived close to being tuned but I did have to adjust it. (Spring made the antenna slightly longer) the first time we went out, we were driving through the 201 corridor in northern Maine. This road follows the river and has mountains and trees on both sides so we did not have line of sight. I was 24th in a line of Jeep’s and had no issues hearing the 1st Jeep. In fact, every time that I’ve gone out since, I’ve had great reception. The President Bill is compact and awesome. Add in the auto-squelch and USB charging port and why choose anything else. The antenna and QD have been great too. This allows easy remove before entering the garage. The firestik antenna is flexible enough to withstand low hanging branches that are common when venturing off road. I’ve made one change to the hood mount. It came complete with hardware but I found the hex head bolts rubbed against the hood. I replaced these with button head Allen head bolts after a week and the hood has plenty of clearance now. I’d recommend swapping out the hardware if you find the hood is rubbing. My only other suggestion would be to make sure that you take the time to prep the area for a good ground. I’ll definitely be choosing Right Channel Radios when I decide to get additional communication hardware. Derek - Maine

President Bill. Small with large features.

The radio for its size has many features larger radios do not have. The Automatic Squelch works great. The radio is not much larger than a cell phone. The audio is unbelievable for a radio of this size. I don’t need an external speaker. The weather channel’s are a bonus. I bought two of them, one for each vehicle. Overall very happy with the radio and the service.

Good Radio

It is a good radio. Very compact in size and with good volume, good auto squelch and power. I do wish it had a built in SWR meter. I was able to use a third party SWR and hide it in the truck, but the additional wires and space irritate just a bit. Overall, I would definitely buy again. In fact, I may buy again for my off-road vehicle. This one is in my daily driver.
