JINHAO X450 Fountain Pen

Beautiful, functional pen

The Jinhao X450 is a terrific bargain. So far it has written very smoothly and without hard starts or skips. And it’s a really handsome writing instrument.

This is a nice pen for the price. Jinhao's nibs are very smooth. The pen is weightier than I expected and I like the indented grip, I'm really enjoying writing with it.

A most excellent pen

I bought this pen along with the Luoshi Matte Black Cigar Fountain Pen and yes, while it's another cigar body, aesthetically, it blows away the Luoshi's austerity. This is no wallflower with its gold-plated clip and bands that break up the bright red lacquer. The section has grips like a Lamy, contoured to guide your fingers; not really a big fan of that feature, preferring a smooth finish. Being a metal pen, the x450 has weight and girth that sits nicely in my small hands. It wrote right out of the box and its medium nib lays a nice, moderately wet line in a medium width (imagine that!). It does a nice job of shading Diamine's Oxblood red ink that I have currently in the pen. Definitely don't get this personality with a Fine nib. Love it!
