I originally got the medium nib with my bamboo pen and the blue/black ink. At first it seemed like it was too much ink so I preferred the fine tip. After breaking in the medium nib I actually prefer it more over the fine. To be fair I didn’t leave the fine nib in very long though. I really like the Sapphire blue but I do need a black or a darker blue for future use though. The nib is a personal choice for sure. My suggestion is to get a couple of sizes and play around with each. I write kind of small but I do like a bold line. In my Fisher Pens I also use the bold tip. The prices are equal to ordering from the Bock website so I’d rather give Jason the Buisness.

Nice, solid nibs

I have tried broad and fine; the broad definitely puts out a lot of ink. The fine one writes smoothly and of course, uses less ink. I have also successfully fashioned a square nib using the standard fine nib to avail an italic nib for calligraphy and it works beautifully.
