Oar Leather Kit

Excellent quality oar leathers

The kit was received in a timely manner, and includes high-quality leather and twine. Brass tacks are included, but I would not want to use tacks on my oars. Sewing them on “baseball-stitch” style looks so much better. My kit included two pieces of leather, each about 12” long. The instructions are adequate, though I would suggest exploring YouTube for more detailed instructions, especially if this is your first time. The bottom line is I was very happy with the finished result.

1st Time Covering

The leather was really nice. Will be very classy when I get them finished. I was surprised there was no leather for the Button as in other kits. Otherwise the project would be done My oars are so light I was afraid the copper tacks would split them, so I used the thread. It worked well. The value here is in the nice leather, At a leather shop you have to buy the whole hide or half hide.
