Baratza Sette 30 All Purpose Grinder

Fast delivery and unit showed up well packed and in perfect condition . Easy assembly and had up and running in 5 minutes. Good fluffy grind at a setting of 9 and produces a nice 2 ounce shot in 27 seconds on my DeLonghi Dedica with a bottomless portafilter with nice crema. The machine is super loud though I measured 91 dbA at one foot distance but grinds very fast so only on for 12 seconds - I weigh out my whole beans and only grind this amount at a time so don't really use the timer function on the machine. Grinder is very tall and doesn't fit under my cupboard like the old Baratza Encore did. I enquired of Baratza about the single dose hopper to reduce the grinder's height but they said it doesn't fit this model. As a further comment the grinder's box does not call this a Sette 30 AP and there is no mention in the manual about the AP burrs which I assume this unit has. There is also no mention of using the alternative BG burrs when using the machine to produce coarser/ non-espresso grinds. There are some online reviews where they discuss these possible modifications. All in all I'm pleased with my purchase of this grinder and my espresso game has been stepped up a notch for sure!

Excellent grinder

I have been using it for a few weeks now and it is excellent. I do use the plastic container to catch the grinds as filling my grounds container directly simply makes too much of a mess. But the grinder works great.
