This cabled hat can be worn as a beanie straight off the needles, or can be blocked into the traditional tam or beret shape. The five wedges form a convoluted and abstracted star on the crown. The sample was worked in a discontinued yarn, but any smooth solid-colored DK weight yarn would work fine.
