I’ve been using Bassforge Hellraiser in my Reaper sessions for melodic metal instrumental tracks, and it is absolute perfection. Writing every single bass note manually can be tedious, but this plugin responds incredibly well to MIDI velocity. When you hit it hard, that legendary "Clank" control gives the bass a sharp, metallic bite that instantly cuts through a wall of heavy distortion guitars. It provides a massive, tight low-end and aggression that you simply cannot get from standard VST basses. Highly recommended for any serious metal producer!

For anyone wondering what the difference is between Bonecrusher and Hellraiser? Bonecrusher is a thick, smooth and polished bass amp with optional destruction. Hellraiser is more like its dirty cousin. It cleans up a bit, but you'll never quite get that lower standard of living out of it. Hellraiser makes it easy to get a thick aggressive tone. In solo you might find yourself thinking "maybe it's too dirty?" But no need to sweat. Just pop it into the full mix and you will see that it slides right in there and sloshes its thick, filthy, gelatinous mass all over the exact right parts and gives that bottom end the radioactive steroid shot to the keester that it needed all along!
