The Berry Basket Course and Kit

I think the course was overall good and the basic instructions were mostly clear, however I hit a few speed bumps and it was really difficult not having any kind of FAQ or way to ask questions as I progressed. For example: I think I might have soaked my reeds too long by accident, I also didn't realise you have to take them out the water and let them dry a bit before starting, and there was no comment on what to do if you break a reed part way through? It also wasn't made clear anywhere that you need to finish the project within a day or two - I have a small child and was hoping to complete it over several days during nap time and evenings and now everything is too brittle to complete unfortunately. I had fun doing it but I made just too many mistakes and not enough reeds to fully start over, so unfortunately it is in the graveyard of sad incomplete craft projects! Or maybe I will find a way to create something else out of it...

The project went relatively smoothly and produced a basket almost identical to the sample. The instruction videos are very thorough and detailed, however, it would be very helpful to add or incorporate a section outlining potential issues that may occur and how to remedy those issues. For example, I snapped a critical willow branch near the end of the construction of the base and I was sure I needed to undo the whole thing and start over. I did my own research to figure out a remedy. The instructor does discuss some issues, but only because they happened to her as she was weaving, but way late in the project. First time weavers would find this helpful. Great project!

My sticks for mildew and smelled Terrible from soaking . I am pleased with the basket even though it’s a bit jankey. I want to try again. Also my dog ate it the next day and shredded it to pieces .
