The Oval Basket Course and Kit

The hobby is very rewarding and relaxing. I have not yet made one that looks like the one in the picture but I keep trying. I call those attempts “TEMU” baskets. 🧺 I have one regret however. I seem to recall that in the early days I saw the possibility of ordering material “at cost” for future projects and now it seems that is not possible. Willow is surprisingly difficult to source but I’m looking. Next time is the charm I’m sure and my “temu” baskets are finding a happy home for my farmer friends to use in their market displays.

First-timer here, and I'm obsessed! I made the large oval basket, and let me tell you, this project is a beast... in the best possible way. Clear your schedule (my basket took all day), claim a generous amount of table space, and pack plenty of patience. The video tutorial is excellent, but don't be surprised if your rewind button gets a workout. If you take your time and trust the process, you'll end up with a beautiful basket that's absolutely worth the effort. I'll definitely be making another one!

The instruction videos were EXCELLENT. I made some mistakes (one big one - somehow did the equivalent of dropping a couple of stitches!) but still am pleased that it came out as well as it did for a first try at weaving. Loved the process and can't wait to do more. It even gave me the confidence to use leftover willow to do passable repair on the back of a damaged wicker chair. 100% recommend!
