The Bird Box Course and Kit

The video is very helpful and detailed. I really liked how it was broken down into small sections so I could rewatch the video over and not get stuck looking through a large file to find what I needed.

Lots of fun. My birdhouse didn't come out anywhere near as neat as the one in the video, but I love it anyway. No birds have moved in yet, but I'm sure they will soon.

The instructional videos for this kit are STELLAR. Very clear each step of the way. My biggest challenge with the birdhouse was soaking the willow enough. I ended up soaking it for two weeks after two separate attempts when it seemed ready and then after starting some of the willow pieces still cracked. I forged ahead as the instructor periodically had "problem" pieces as well. I ended up leaving the willow soaking rather than mellowing it, which may have added to the problem (?) but after mellowing twice before, I decided to leave it in the water bath and select pieces straight from my tub. The project took about 4 hours, which was reasonable. By the end, however, some of the long stakes started breaking which I remedied by splicing them back into the birdhouse. All this said, I really enjoyed the project and learned a LOT about working with willow. I assume that my struggles with the willow was part of the learning how to work with this material. I'm tempted to make this project again, but also have the market basket kit, so will try that next. Thanks for your great products!
