The Shopping Basket Course and Kit

I enjoyed the process of weaving the basket. My biggest problem was that I had all similar sized rods, my guess is that they were really medium and small rods. I did not receive any thicker ones that I needed for the stakes. I didn’t understand that until I began with the border rim. That’s when it became clear to me that the upright stakes should have been thicker. I broke nearly half the stakes when I tried to bend them over. I kept them properly moist, but that didn’t really help. The herringbone weaving at the handle ends had quite a few kinks in them, but I didn’t break any. I think the rods could have been a bit longer to make that look nicer. The videos are well done and very thorough. Overall it went well, but I’m a little disappointed in some of the areas I mentioned.

I had so much fun challenging myself to make the basket; I haven't made the star yet. And it is very true that your first attempt will be somewhat wonky. But the instructions are easy to follow, and I was able to go back and stop and start the videos as much as I needed to really understand what I was doing. My basket looks awfully silly, but it holds things and was made by me. I will treasure this and buy more experiences and baskets from here in the future!
