Buckthorn Honey

Unexpectedly good

Actually has become one of my faves. My friends say "honey is honey" and I used to say that too. Coming here to Ames farm shed light on my prejudice. BUT! Preparing my toast in the morning has become more time consuming as I try to figure out/choose which type of honey I should use that day. Ha ha ha funny but true. Any honey I use that day is alway intensified by the salted butter I use too.

I bought this along with the basswood, dandelion, honeydew, and savory spring to compare and contrast--the best way to appreciate them!--the buckthorn tastes more bold, leaning savory (if honey can lean that way?). This stands up to whatever you put it on/into, so you are really committing to this flavor. I like honey with personality, so if you're looking for something more adventurous, this might be for you!
