Good bag, weak extension handle

Overall, the bag did what it was supposed to. It held my stuff and didn't rip or come open. I packed the bag to weigh a little under 50 pounds to avoid additional airline checked luggage fees and the square tubes that house the extension handle ended up getting bent on the very first trip by the airline handlers. I know airlines are not gentle with luggage, but considering what I spent on this, I expected better. These tubes seem lightweight and undersized for such a large bag. Now my handle goes up and down very hard due to the bent tubes. My family's luggage that was all purchased at TJ Maxx at a fraction of the price and made in China held up well. I was happy to pay 6x as much $$ on this bag to support a US business and jobs and get a higher quality bag, but I expected more. I think this could be an easy fix, with slightly heavier gauge aluminum and/or a different design to better protect the extension handle housing. This said, I just returned from my trip and haven't had a chance to reach out to Tough Traveler yet to see what they can do, so hopefully theuly find a way to make it right.

From the ordering process all the way to receiving the package........five star experience! I will be "officially" trying out my new suitcase when I leave for Virginia(via plane) to visit my son July,1st.I cannot wait to utilize the very well built suitcase! Thank you!

Excellent pieces of luggage.

They are very versatile and you can fit a lot of clothing in them.
