Different yet elegant

When I placed the case on my 17 PM, I knew I had to write a review! First off, shipping only took four business days, which is amazing since it was shipped all the way from the Netherlands and arrived safely in California, so no mishaps there. Secondly, the deep red (I got the burgundy color) looks very elegant and has a nice, subtle shimmer in the light, especially the metal buttons and camera cover. I do like how it covers the whole plateau also, which is not common when looking at other leather cases from major leather companies. All the cutouts are precise and my bigger Anker USB-C cord fits fine. The buttons are slightly “mushy,” but it might just take some time and additional clicks to really break them in. I didn’t get a nice leather smell, but not the end of the world as the feel of the case is nice and supple in the hand. It doesn’t feel plasticky at all. MagSafe works fine. Laying the phone flat on the screen is fine since the case’s sides are raised. Main reason why I took one star off is because of the metal camera bump. Since it’s metal and it covers the whole area—not just the outline of the plateau like most cases—I definitely notice a small decrease in WiFi and signal strength. I noticed it when I sat in my living room one time, which is where I know my WiFi signal should be fine. To test my theory, I took off the case for a few minutes and noticed the WiFi strength go back to the full three bars. When I put the case back on, it went back down to two almost immediately. Not the biggest deal since the loading speed seems to be unaffected, but still something to think about or consider if you go through areas with already weak signals. This case just might make that signal go from weak to nothing! Besides that, this case is great and I love the burgundy color. It’s a bit different than the usual and very common black, tan, or brown leather cases.
