Excellent Starter Pen

Inexpensive, Light in the hand and comes with a converter this is an excellent pen to start with or give as a gift to a new fountain pen user. Pilot quality is on full display even in this budget pen.

Good pen

The Pilot Explorer is light and very rugged, you can put in your pocket or bag and not worry about. This pen has done a great job when travelling I don't have to worry about it at all. It writes every time with out skipping or pooling ink. It's a nice pen.

Better than the Metropolitan

I resisted getting this pen for a long time because of mixed reviews, but decided to go for it as a birthday present for my wife because it has nicer color options than the metro. It's fabulous. It doesn't feel cheap at all. And the snap cap is so satisfying.
